Life groups

Life Groups are small groups that meet for a shorter duration (eg, the school year or summer) that have an emphasis on connecting with other believers and experiencing the blessings of life together! There are new Life Groups forming that will provide opportunities for believers at Gateway to:

pray Together

Consider being a part of a group during the school year that is committed to praying together for our families, our church, and our community.  There are a couple of group options for this:

Worship Service Prayer Teams

There are teams forming that will spend time together during one of the worship services to pray for the preaching of the Word, the work of the Holy Spirit, and the hearts of the people there.  Then after the service, spend some time praying with others who may be looking for support or wanting to pray in response to God’s leading from something they experienced in the service.

Living Room Prayer Groups

If you are interested in learning more about prayer or would like to spend more time in prayer, you could be a part of a group that meets during the week and spends time together experiencing the joy and worship of talking to God.  Groups would have many different options and resources for their time together, such as:  using Scripture to pray into the lives of those around you, or using tools like a prayer journal to help you and your group think more about prayer.  Join with others as we encourage each other to pay more attention to not only how to pray for others, but also experiencing the joy and thankfulness of how God answers our prayers.

play together

Are you looking for an indoor activity during the winter months that is fun and will get your body moving?  Most importantly you can be a part of a group that not only plays together, but loves and supports each other as well.

Men’s Ping Pong - Every Monday night from 7:00- 8:30 p.m. in Gateway’s gym.  Men of all ages are invited to form connections by playing and praying together. (Roomball too - a new game that was created right here at Gateway that is super fun and unique.  Easy to learn and fun to play. It’s a great way to get some exercise during the dark and rainy months,)

Read Together

There are groups forming this fall that center themselves around the reading of God’s Word as well as reading books about the Word of God.   Either way, if you are looking to add community to your reading, try one of these groups and see for yourself how amazing it is to read together!

  1. Bible Reading Partner:  Are you interested in continuing with Gateway’s focus in 2023 to partner around the Word of God?  Or maybe you haven’t formed a partnership yet…it’s not too late and we want to help.  There are groups forming this fall will meet during the school year to read aloud certain books of the Bible, while others will focus on sharing highlighted verses from daily devotions.

  2. Book Club:  Join other believers as we read and discuss Bible-centered books throughout the school year.  This group meets together once a month after a book is read to discuss God’s leading from what was read.  Email Pastor Gary for more information.

Reach  Out  together

Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”” Matthew 9:37-38

What would happen if we prayed earnestly to the Lord of the harvest?

But there were some of them, men of Cyprus and Cyrene, who on coming to Antioch spoke…, preaching the Lord Jesus.” Acts 11:20

Scattered because of persecution, they landed in places where no one knew about Jesus. “Some of them” started sharing the Good News—and to great effect!  We should be like “some of them!” Join us in praying for those who do not know Christ!

train together

These are groups designed for people who are desiring to train their mind, body, and soul.  We tend to struggle in isolation with things that are difficult.  Long lasting endurance with these difficult changes usually doesn’t happen alone.  If there are changes you want to make and training that needs to happen to support those changes, consider that God has designed us for life together.  Join a group and discover the strength and encouragement in a group that trains together.
